I'm cross-posting this because it brings up some excellent points about the issues facing many rescues now. The horrific drought has made the cost of hay and feed go through the roof. I was lucky to get a full hay cutting in June but that is the only cutting I will get this year. Sometimes even a rescue has to make the hard decisions because the owners didn't.
