Some folks are truly more than one brick shy of a full load.

There is a page on Facebook that shows a horse in deplorable condition and conditions. Yet the owners seem oblivious to that fact and seem to feel that they are doing this poor animal a favor since she's old. I will be the first to admit that not every thin horse is a neglect case BUT the lion's share of them are. And if the horse is thin AND has obvious health issues, then I err on the side of caution and call it abuse unless proven otherwise.
